Wood is what sash windows are made from. These can be found on a lot of older houses. Weather conditions can cause damage to them and require them to be fixed. Paint can chip or peel and make them look older. The house value can be increased when the sash windows are repaired.

You may have all of the tools that you will need if already do a lot of woodworking. If you are just getting started, you may have to buy some tools. If you do not already have one, you may want to purchase a truck so that you can haul the necessary supplies for the job. Any business is going to require some purchases to get started.

Sash window parts are becoming hard to find. Some are still available but others may need to be made by somebody who is trained. This is where you will be called on more. Being able to match paint colors is something that is important also. This is because repainting will have to be done.

One of the things to be considered if you are thinking about starting up this business type is who is handling the money and how it will be done. If can keep track of records easily then it may be cheaper for you to do it. But you may not want to do this if you have a hard time keeping bills and receipts in order.
