Within the whole health care sector, nursing is the largest growing profession. On last count, we had almost three million active and licensed nurses in the system. The second biggest group of nurses are the ones that support private physicians practices. Working in private practice can have its reward, and as far as salary is concerned, the earning power is about the same as hospital nurses at about 67,000. RN's that provide care in the home health care end of the business will earn 63,000 per year on average. Unfortunately, those working in nursing homes come in on the lower end at about 59,000 per year. Outpatient service can be a fast paced environment and those nurses who chose to work there, will make approximately 65,000 per year.

These income levels are very good and most people can live quite nicely. At the same time, there are other areas in health care that offer even a greater income. Equipment and supplies can be quite interesting and has great earning power at an average annual salary of over 77,000. Finally, maybe not surprising, a nurse in Government at the Federal level in the executive branch can earn about 78,000 per year.

Even though new nurses are being hired every day, the need will continue to grow into the future. Many areas around the U.S. still need many more qualified and quality nurses. If you are ready to embark on the nursing career, there may not be a better time to start. Those who have a heart for others and a dedication to quality and details will benefit from this nursing boom.

Although the duties are somewhat alike, an RN salary is typically higher than that of other nursing positions. An LPN needs a lesser degree of education and certification.

This is done in-house in a similar fashion to the residencies that physicians participate in, where you will attend lectures and on-the-job training that will familiarize you with the specific issues and struggles inherent in your particular pediatric field.

Sub-specialties are common and so you can work in a number of areas. The NICU, or Newborn Intensive Care Unit, specializes in problems afflicting the newly born and can be an extremely rewarding, but difficult job. There are also positions in oncology, emergency medicine, and family health in general.

This latter position is unique in that you'll be saying the same patients over successive years as they come in for immunizations and standard check-ups. If you choose the field of pediatrics for your nursing career, it's as rewarding as anything else under the healthcare umbrella.

The Importance Of Career Talks

Career seminars are usually simple and listless events yet not in my case. Since college, high school, and until the time I had been invited for a career seminar, it has been nothing but inspiring. During high school, a few requested speakers has worked in closely modern day careers as CDM coordination specialists or web designers. This wasn't the highlight of the talk though. Other speakers were law enforcers and these people presented some simple judo steps. In place of dance or singing numbers, we got self-defense demonstrations.

Following the career talk, a career quiz succeeded. This time, a lot of us thought it was a graded test and so clearly the final results made no perfect sense. We realized we needed to impress the person who would evaluate the examinations even though there's a clear guide on writing down answers we believed referred to us most appropriately. High school students shouldn't get examinations based on personalities that'll help them in their future decisions. They should wait until they are more mature or as soon as bodily hormones have started to cool down thus they will realize which work bring in more revenue.

The final results of my career examination showed that I should practice carpentry because I have scored higher on technical sections. I hardly ever imagined being a woodworker as I was aiming for a plumbing work the whole time. In all seriousness, both said work are an area of the construction design and management field. Without having these expertise, there wouldn't be buildings and houses we could consider refuge in whilst writing about work opportunities.

College employment talks were a lot more fun than exciting. Many high schools usually ask a number of alumnis to speak while others see to it their pupils go to the university by themselves. Because my old college held an annual employment fair, it made choosing professional work less difficult for the touring secondary school students. In conclusion, the life of a hospital administrator involves business (staffing, scheduling, budgets, marketing, etc), management (policy setting and leadership) and dealing with an incredibly challenging and stressful environment. However, for as hard as it can be, it can also be incredibly rewarding. Beyond the day to day challenges, there is a big picture. This is the business of caring for other human beings.

You don't have to wait until you apply for your Permanent Residency before buying a home, and you won't have to pay a cent more in interest than an Australian Citizen!

How much can I borrow?

I'm glad you asked. The amount you can borrow while on a 457 visa does depend on your situation, such as your employment history, asset position and marital status.

For everyone else a good rule of thumb is to have 25% of the purchase price in savings if you qualify for an 80% loan, 15% if you qualify for a 90% loan and 10% if you qualify for a 95% mortgage.

* 80% of Property Value: A number of Financial Institutions are willing to lend up to 80% LVR (Loan to Value Ratio) to those on a Work Visa living in Australia.

Should I use a Mortgage Broker, or apply directly with a Bank?

* 95% of Property Value: If you are in a defacto relationship, or married to an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident, then you will be able to obtain a 95% LVR loan from a a couple of specialist financial institutions.
