James Malinchak Tells The Solution For The Shiny Object Syndrome That Stops Business In It Tracks

By Rubin Price

You might have heard about the Shiny Object Syndrome in the past. However, I am not sure if anybody else is telling why it will kill your company or tell you how to cure this deadly disease. It is lethal because when you're distracted from doing what you do well, you lose income, time, and energy on unnecessary ideas. The way to determine if you have Shiny Object Syndrome is to look at how many projects you've got going on at this moment in time. Should there be quite a few, then you are already succumbing to the syndrome! The syndrome is described as the following: a distraction to tackle new ideas, new projects, new ventures, and new programs without a plan or completion of present projects.

Businessmen and women with Shiny Object Syndrome flit from one project or idea to another and seemingly never accomplish anything. While they might still be successful in their business or their life, they would be further along if he or she just concentrated on the 'here and now' instead of the 'there and future.' If you're not able to diagnose yourself, ask any partner or friend what they observe. If they even slightly suggest you are distracted or that you are taking on way too many things, you have the lethal disease.

Alright, now that you have identified yourself as being afflicted. You probably will want to know how to cure this syndrome and the way to cease the symptoms. To be able to concentrate on what you are currently doing, you need to stop the ideas and stop the creativity. I get it; creativity and new things are what you love in your daily life. Nonetheless, you aren't likely to live for long or at best not at the life-style you would like if you keep getting distracted from the primary focus. Therefore, there are some techniques to stop the Shiny Object Syndrome. The best methods to stop Shiny Object Syndrome include an idea folder, a stop or go survey, or gifting the ideas.

* Idea folder - an idea folder is simply a manila folder where you put all your opinions set for later. By doing this, you do not forget about them. You're able to concentrate on that which you have on hand currently, and you are free to browse your opinions at any moment to see what you have extra time to work on at this moment.

* A stop and go survey - if you make a survey of 3 or 4 questions for your self to respond to, you will be able to determine if you should proceed with the idea or stop it in its tracks. The questions could be:

o Will this concept add to what I am already doing or take me off track?

o Will this idea make me a profitable return quickly or take some time or effort?

o Is this concept awesome because I am with others who are excited or in an environment which gets me excited? Nonetheless, if I were in the house in my own environment would this be as valuable?

* Pass it on - If the idea is awesome and urgent that this idea be implemented, and if you're unable to get on it in the near future, give it away to someone else. It might be valuable for another person to complete it than you, so be charitable.

If you answer the questions honestly, you will be able to assess if you should proceed with the idea or move along to concentrate on the duties you are already investing in for your business. Additionally, whenever you figure out that this concept is effective, but disturbance for you, there is the option to file it or pass it onto other people. Irrespective of your choice pick one and do it. Stop the ideas and especially stop the ideas which are ideas upon ideas upon ideas. You've got the control to stop the ideas. Focus on the jobs that are your primary deal and get stuff done. When you've got extra time, go on and explore the other ideas!
