Ultrasound technician's also known as medical diagnostic sonographers help patients by diagnosing them with sound waves that comes out of the ultrasound machines. Job Description: An ultrasound technician helps doctors to diagnosing the illness in a particular patient. Requirements for Training: The basic requirement is that you need strong background in physics, natural sciences and algebra. Usually, the training is of two years. The typical coursework for ultrasound training consists of medical ethics, physiology, anatomy and patient care.

Some specialized fields in sonography are gynecologic and obstetric, cardiac or vascular, breast, neuro and abdominal sonography. Gynecologic and obstetric sonography includes examining and scanning the reproductive organs of a female, whereas abdominal sonography is related to the scanning of kidneys, liver, gallbladder, spleen and pancreas. Breast sonography includes scanning of tissues in the breasts and vascular type includes scanning of heart. Lastly, neurosonography is all about brain scanning.

According to the statistics of U.S Bureau of Labor, student who have license of ultrasound technician have higher chances of getting high paid salary job.
